3 Runs / 300+ miles / $30,000 in Donations!

The Challenge

The Challenge

The Challenge

Welcome to my first fundraiser for Project Safehouse! I’m so excited to bring together 3 of my passions - our work in Uganda, ultra running, a fun challenge - and I’m asking for your support along the way. Over the course of 3 months I’ll push myself like never before; I’ll run 3 ultramarathons, cover over 300 miles, and seek to raise $30,000! Good things come in threes, right?

The Ask

For now, I’m kicking it old school and asking for you to pledge your support. Pledge per mile, per event, or whatever pledge you’d like to make! Give me your commitment and when I’ve done my part, I’ll come back to you for yours.

The Details

All donations go to Project Safehouse Fund (EIN: 85-2111909) and ALL donations support our efforts in Uganda. Race entry fees, travel, and related expenses are on me. Your support in this challenge funds our latest project: the development of a school within Patrick’s village. Your participation in this fundraiser will have transformative and on-going impact on Patrick, his family, and his community.

1st Event (October 5, 2024)

Arkansas Traveller 100

The Arkansas Traveller is one of the oldest 100-mile races. What makes the AT100 so unique is the beautiful scenery of the Ouachita Trail and Forest Service roads, and the sneaky-hard runnable hills that challenge from the start to finish lines.

Post Race (Update)
2nd Event (November 2, 2024)

Pinhoti 100

The 17th Annual Pinhoti 100 is a point-to-point trail run starting in Heflin (Alabama) on the Pinhoti single track trail, navigates over the highest point in Alabama.  The run will have a healthy dose of rocks, creeks and beautiful ridge lines throughout the Talladega National Forest.

Post Race (Update II)
3rd Event (November 22, 2024)

Grand Canyon R5

Rim-to-rim-to-rim-to-rim-to-rim... also known as a quad crossing - or the R5.  More than 22,000 feet of ascent over 100+ miles.  Some of the most amazing views, experiences, physical challenges, and adventures one can experience.

Post Race (Final Update)

Ready to help? Let’s do this!

1. Call me (Preferred!)

I told you I was kicking it old school - conversations bring us together! I’d love to speak to you and have the chance to say ‘thank you’ for your support. Give me a ring at (214) 557-1101.

2. Text me

While I’d love to chat, I know life gets busy. Shoot me a text and let me know how you’d like to support…and I’ll definitely still call to say thanks! :)

3. Email me

Perhaps the easiest way to track support, email is up for the most boring award as well. BUT I’d be a fool not to accept your pledge of support via email. Just be careful - if your signature includes your phone number, you’ll be getting a ‘thank you’ call as well! :) Send me a note at matthew.combs@gmail.com

En Fin

Over the next few months, I’ll track all commitments on a good ol’ spreadsheet. After my third event is in the books, I’ll follow up with you to coordinate final donations. Thanks in advance to all supporters of this journey. Your support propels progress that touches so many lives!
